Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Stuart Ayres was asked why the proposal for the $5.5 million gun club grant did not go through a normal process for a submission going to Expenditure Review Committee. “The former sports minister, and now deputy Liberal leader, says as a minister it was his prerogative,” Mr Clennell said. “So Stuart Ayres putting this grant forward for the electorate of the former Wagga MP, the former secret lover of Gladys Berejiklian, Daryl Maguire. “The ICAC, of course, is looking into two grants in Wagga where Gladys Berejiklian did not disclose an interest and push the projects forward is what they allege.”
