Dorinda Cox became the first Indigenous senator from Western Australia after being sworn in on Monady 18 October. Cox wore a Booka – a kangaroo cloak – as she entered the Senate alongside fellow Indigenous senator Lidia Thorpe, and Greens colleague Mehreen Faruqi
