Palaszczuk ‘in the crosshairs for everything’

Sky News host Jenna Clarke says Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is “in the crosshairs for everything” as her government is accused of running out of ideas. 

The Courier Mail is reporting the Palaszczuk government has only introduced 20 proposed laws this year compared to an average of 50 annually since the start of the century.  

The West Australian’s Ben O’Shea argued a number of COVID lockdowns and three State of Origin games would have impacted how much legislation the Palaszczuk government could get through. 

“I know that when there's a State of Origin happening not much gets done,” he said. 

“When you’ve got the prospect of where those games are going to be played you've got easily a month and a half of the year there that’s a complete write-off.” 

Ms Clarke also pointed out the Palaszczuk government worked through a “big chunk of legislation” in the form of some very complex voluntary assisted dying laws.
