Most Australians wanted ‘something done’ on climate change

Former Liberal advisor Grahame Morris says "when the history of current politics is written" there will be "an entire chapter about today".

It comes as Prime Minister Scott Morrison has officially committed Australia to a net zero emissions target by 2050.

"Most Australians wanted something done on climate change," Mr Morris told Sky News Australia.

"But they didn't want to have to pay for it and they didn't want their fellow Australians to get whacked.

"And I think this hits the mark."
