Net zero impact on bush to be assessed

Details of the Nationals’ secret deal to support net zero emissions are beginning to emerge, with revelations the Productivity Commission will conduct regular assessments of the impact in the bush. 

There is set to be a review conducted every five years, with the first one being tabled into parliament by 2023.

While it will enable bureaucrats, politicians and journalists to understand exactly what is happening it will not be a mechanism to stop what the government has committed to. 

There remains deep division within the Nationals over net zero.
