Scott Morrison ‘copping it at COP’ over climate policies: Clennell

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Prime Minister Scott Morrison is "copping it at COP” over his environmental policies.

“I think one of the interesting things here is that Boris Johnson, the UK prime minister, has called net zero by 2050 heroic but there are others criticising not only a 2030 target,” he told Sky News Australia.

Mr Clennell said Energy Minister Angus Taylor would be under more scrutiny on the policies, but as for Mr Morrison the summit will be “more a fly in fly out give the speech” visit.

“To sum it up, the PM would rather win an election than cop a bit of criticism on the international stage and it looks like he’s done enough for Boris Johnson at least but has he done enough on climate here for Joe Biden,” he said.
