COP26 has shown ‘how far we are being left behind’ Australia is on 2030 climate target

Labor MP Alicia Payne says the COP26 Climate Change Conference in Glasgow has shown “how far we are being left behind” in 2030 climate policy. 

“The conference was always going to be about 2030 targets and the prime minister this week has confirmed what we knew; it’s just incredibly embarrassing for Australia,” Ms Payne told Sky News Australia. 

“The economy is moving on, the rest of the world is moving on, and we are being left behind and we are not pulling our weight as a global citizen to address this existential crisis.”
