Labor uses ‘well-worn line’ of high speed rail

Labor's infrastructure spokeswoman Catherine King used the “well-worn line” this morning of building high-speed rail - which Labor will pursue if elected, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell. 
  
“I can remember doing stories about high-speed rail studies under Anthony Albanese as Transport and Infrastructure Minister during the entire time of the six years Labor had in power,” Mr Clennell said.  
  
“The project never happened.  
  
“It's just too expensive unless you were prepared to take a real risk as a government and just get on with it.  
  
“But every time the subject is mentioned, it rates off the charts on news websites.”
