Biden’s South Africa travel ban won’t stop omicron

The Biden administration’s travel ban on eight countries in southern Africa that into effect on Monday probably won’t do much to stave off omicron, a new, fast-spreading Covid-19 variant that was discovered in the region last week, and whose presence was confirmed in the US Wednesday.
