Greens Leader rules out taking action against Senator Thorpe following offensive comment

Greens Leader Adam Bandt has ruled out taking action against his Senator Lidia Thorpe following her offensive comment towards Liberal Senator Hollie Hughes.
 
Ms Thorpe has apologised and retracted a comment she allegedly made towards Ms Hughes in the Senate.
 
Ms Thorpe was accused of saying, "at least I keep my legs shut", during a heated Senate debate.
 
Speaking to reporters on Friday, Mr Bandt declined to apologise to Ms Hughes himself, but suggested people should move on because “Senator Thorpe took ownership of it straight away”.
 
“Senator Thorpe took ownership of it straight away and just apologised almost immediately, and that I think is to her credit,” Mr Bandt said.
 
“I support Lidia’s apology to Senator Hughes, all of us in the Greens do, because it was the wrong thing to have been said.
 
“If Senator Hughes wants more she can reach out.”
