Labor’s Future Made in Australia Skills Plan to address ‘demand for skilled workers’

Opposition leader Anthony Albanese has announced Labor’s Future Made in Australia plan which will include free TAFE places to address the nation’s “demand for skilled workers”.

Mr Albanese said the "ambitious" plan will create 465,000 free TAFE places and up to 20,000 new university places.

“Our plan will prepare a new generation of mechanics, construction workers and engineers, it will train people in resources, digital and cyber security and advanced manufacturing," Mr Albanese said. 

“Our plan will get Australians in on the ground floor for the new jobs that are going to be created by renewable energy. 

"We will invest in a new generation of early childhood educators, registered nurses,  teachers and aged care and disability care professionals.”
