Nationals senator accused of throwing punches at party director

Sky News can exclusively reveal Northern Territory Senator Sam McMahon has been accused of throwing punches at the Nationals’ federal director.

Witnesses told Sky News Australia Senator McMahon took “multiple swings” at Jonathan Hawkes during the party’s Christmas event on Thursday night.

It’s claimed Ms McMahon and Mr Hawkes had been drinking at the party inside a Canberra pub with Nationals MPs and staffers when the senator allegedly took as many as three or four swings at Mr Hawkes.

She is currently in quarantine in the NT and has not responded to inquiries.
