Man rescued from car as western Sydney hit with flash flooding

A sudden storm has caused flash flooding in western Sydney on Thursday afternoon, with more thunderstorms across the city possible into the evening.

The NSW State Emergency Service said a male driver had to be rescued from his car when water inundated Woodriff Street, in Penrith.
