With cashed-up independent candidates looking to unseat Liberal MPs at next year’s election, a minority government is looking like a real possibility. Scott Morrison and Anthony Albanese could face demands over a federal corruption commission and emissions reductions targets from crossbenchers. When asked who she would support in a hung parliament, Warringah independent MP Zali Steggall said she respected her electorate was a traditionally Liberal electorate, however, there had been a “major loss of trust in Scott Morrison”.
