Booster rollout ‘critically important’ to the nation’s ability to move forward

Deputy Labor Leader Richard Marles says it is “critically important” the Morrison government successfully rolls out COVID-19 vaccine booster shots across the country so Australia can keep moving forward on the road to recovery. It comes after the Prime Minister said Australia would not have to go backwards following the emergence of the Omicron variant thanks to the nation’s high vaccination coverage. “The rollout of the booster is now going to be fundamentally important in relation to this,” Mr Marles told Sky News Australia. “It’s obviously a good thing that we can get that now a little earlier but what matters is that we don’t see a repeat of the failure in the rollout of the vaccine that we saw earlier in the year when it comes to the booster shot. “It’s critically important that the government makes sure that the country is getting the booster shot because it’s going to be central to our ability to keep moving forward.”
