NSW government’s finances ‘a big disaster’

The New South Wales government’s finances are in turmoil after the state’s auditor-general refused to sign off on them.

She said a solution needs to be found for some significant accounting issues on the same week the government is set to hand down its half yearly budget.

Opposition Leader Chris Minns told Sky News Australia it was a big disaster.

“It looks as if the New South Wales government has been caught cooking the books,” he said.

“This is a big problem for the state’s finances.”
