PM chances bowling arm in Brisbane, declares government takes Omicron ‘very seriously’

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has not allowed a COVID scare to get in the way of his trip to the Sunshine State and continue his unofficial election campaign. The Prime Minister stopped off in Brisbane where he chanced his cricketing arm for the cameras – bowling a few deliveries down the pitch. It comes after Mr Morrison tested negative after being informed he was a casual contact when a person who attended a graduation event on Friday night returned a COVID-positive result. He has been advised by the Chief Medical Officer that he does not need to isolate. Today, as he continues to pledge to live with the virus he also praised states which were doing the same. "We're taking the Omicron variant very very seriously, but we're not going to let it take us back – we've got to keep moving forward," Mr Morrison told a media conference in Queensland.
