Marnus Labuschagne is on the cusp of an Adelaide Oval century after he was given a life in stunning circumstances late on day one of the second Ashes Test on Thursday.

Australia reached stumps on 2-221, with Labuschagne unbeaten on 95 thanks to the sloppy work of England wicketkeeper Jos Buttler.
