Perth scorcher on the way with Christmas forecast to hit 42C

Christmas Day in Perth is forecast to be the hottest since 1968, set to hit a scorching 42 celsius.

Boxing Day is going to be almost as hot at 41C, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting a maximum of 41C and an overnight minimum of 27C.
