WA locks out the rest of Australia for Christmas

Western Australia has locked out the rest of the country ahead of Christmas.

It is the first time quarantine-free travel has been banned for travellers from every state since November 2020.

Under the new rules, travellers from Queensland will require an exemption and have to self-isolate for two weeks, while those from Tasmania will also have to quarantine for two weeks.

Western Australia is scheduled to reopen on February 5 when it hits 90 per cent double vaccinated.
