SA records ‘steep increase’ in COVID cases as premier issues ominous warning

South Australia has recorded a massive surge in new coronavirus cases as the premier issues a dire warning about the Omicron variant.

Another 688 cases were confirmed in the state on Friday after more than 20,000 tests were processed.

Eight people with COVID are being treated in hospital in SA.
