Qld COVID cases today: Queensland records a spike in new infections as active cases soar past 25,000

Queensland has recorded another 5699 COVID-19 cases overnight as authorities warn of “hundreds of thousands” of more infections through January.

Active cases have soared to 25,924 with 170 currently being treated in hospital, 11 in intensive care, of whom two are on ventilators.
