Nurses have begun strike action outside Westmead Hospital in Sydney to protest current work conditions.

Intensive care workers are calling on the state government to address dangerously low staffing levels, saying the increased pressure on the network is putting staff and patients at risk.

The NSW Nurses and Midwives Association is calling on Premier Dominic Perrottet to meet with nurses and spend a day witnessing the impacts of understaffing.
