The political dimension of this 2022 election year will be "work or welfare", says Sky News host Gary Hardgrave.

Mr Hardgrave said countries like Tonga are relying on Australia to be the strongest it can be coming out of the pandemic.

"Putting us to work is better than putting us to welfare," Mr Hardgrave said.

"It's either work or welfare – what are you going to vote for," Mr Hardgrave said.
