Labor takes strong lead in election odds

TAB’s Gerard Middleton says the Labor Party is in a “winning position” at $1.37 in the markets.  

“Now the Coalition is heading into this election are at its longest price...to $3.10 now,” Mr Middleton told Sky News Australia.  

“And really sits at the Newspoll but just continue to drift from earlier in the week, Labor in a winning position, $1.37. 

“Go back almost 12 months, and the Coalition was $1.35 favourites, the markets flipped in November. 

“The money has been coming for Labor.” 

Mr Middleton said in Western Australia, there are Coalition held seats where Labor is a “firm favourite”.
