West Australian consortium stands its ground on control of new NRL team

Western Australia will inch closer to having an NRL team in 2027 when a Perth bid consortium lodges an official application next week as a merger with North Sydney Bears.

The bid deadline falls on Wednesday but the two parties have agreed to the name Western Bears, colours and logo.
