A 46-year-old woman has been charged with murder after a 10-year-old girl was found dead with her throat slashed on the Gold Coast.
Emergency services were called to a property on Central Pl at Emerald Lakes, Carrara shortly after 6pm yesterday.
The girl was found unresponsive and deceased at the address, Queensland Police said in a statement.
Gold Coast detectives arrested the 46-year-old Carrara woman at a nearby street around 10.25pm.
She has been charged with murder and is due to appear before Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
