Essendon defender Ben McKay has baffled commentators after “gifting” Brisbane a goal with a bizarre decision.

Late in the second quarter with the Lions leading by 26 points, McKay had a free kick in his defensive 50 after Eric Hipwood had kicked it out on the full.
