Evidence faked during attempted murderer’s appeal

A remorseless man who tried to kill his girlfriend by setting her on fire relied on fabricated evidence from a prison mate during his failed court appeal.

Matthew John Davey was jailed for 18 years in 2021 for attempting to murder his then-partner at a home in Hobart’s northern suburbs in 2017.
