Water Police have rescued a puppy from waters off Brisbane at the weekend.
Officers examined a boat moored in Kedron Brook Waterway after receiving reports of animals in distress around 10:30pm on Saturday.
They discovered the puppy clinging onto a tyre on the side of the boat and pulled it to safety.
“He looks about 6 months or 4 months old?” one of the officers said.
When they boarded the vessel they also found another dog and a cat and left food and water for the animals.
The incident has been referred to the RSPCA for investigation.
The puppy was given lots of cuddles and transported to an emergency vet in Stafford for precaution and examination after being in the water.
