Carmel’s Banyan House Was Designed by a Frank Lloyd Wright Apprentice

A 1950s architectural gem within walking distance to Carmel Bay is up for grabs. 

The striking A-frame abode, dubbed Banyan House, is the first home designed by Mark Mills, an apprentice at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin Fellowship from 1944 through 1948. Mills, who designed over 40 homes throughout his career, built the Carmel-by-the-Sea residence in 1951. It was later acquired by his father, and Mills lived there from 1954 to 1957.
