Weapons and drugs seized during police search in Queensland

A man will appear in court before Christmas after police allegedly seized weapons and drugs from his car.

Just after midnight on Monday, police intercepted a vehicle on Oaka Street in South Gladstone and a search warrant was executed. During the search, police allegedly located a taser, handgun, gel blaster parts, ammunition, a quantity of methamphetamines and drug utensils.

Police conducted a further search at a Sun Valley Road address at Kin Kora around 8.30am. It is alleged police found a handgun, gel blaster and parts, a quantity of methamphetamines and utensils at the address.

A 33-year-old Kin Kora man has been charged with two counts of unlawful possession of weapons, and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, authority required to possess explosives, possessing utensils, and possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear at the Gladstone Magistrates Court tomorrow.
