London Approves Plan for the 1 Undershaft, a 74-Story Skyscraper

The Shard will soon have to share the title of Britain‘s tallest building.  

Plans are in motion to erect a new skyscraper in London, the same height as Western Europe’s largest tower, BBC reported. On Friday, the City of London Corporation approved 1 Undershaft, which will rise to 74 stories once complete. The structure, measuring approximately 1,016 feet tall, will be the same height as the Shard, the current record holder.
