I fondly remember the vibrant processions (Nagar Kirtans), accompanied by Sikhs singing devotional songs. When I was a child, we would visit gurdwaras, participate in prayer services, listen to hymns and end with a langar: a vegetarian community feast served in the gurdwara to emphasise the Sikh principle of equality.
For me, Baisakhi is a festival that blends spiritual devotion with cultural pride and gratitude. It serves as a reminder of the enduring Sikh values of courage, faith and unity….
