Power outages in Spain and Portugal are causing travel chaos: here’s everything we know

Much of Spain and Portugal has ground to a standstill this afternoon (Monday 28 April 2025), as a massive power outage has spread across the countries.

At the time of writing (2.30pm), power has been out for two hours, and power bosses say that restoring power could take up to 10 hours.
