Imitation is the highest form of flattery, so it’s no wonder Broadway legend Bernadette Peters responded warmly to newly minted Tony winner Cole Escola’s sartorial tribute at the Tony Awards 2025.
“I thought they looked absolutely lovely but when I wore it I wore my chest hairs in a different pattern,” Peters said in a playful statement to Playbill Tuesday. “But, more importantly congratulations to Cole on the Tony!!”
