A earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 7.6 has hit near Japan’s north-eastern coast, prompting a tsunami warning.
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said the quake’s epicentre was in the Pacific Ocean, 80 kilometres off the coast of Aomori Prefecture on Monday at 11:15pm, local time.
