Rare wombats become one rarer after road hit

A local property owner says he is “disappointed” after he discovered a wombat dead on the Pilliga Road about 50 kilometres from Coonamble.

The owner, who asked to remain anonymous, said they spotted the creature on 10 December and pulled it off to the side of the road.
