A warning has been triggered for a popular tourist region after a surfer was knocked off their board by a 2m shark on Tuesday.
The encounter happened at 12pm about 1km offshore from Yardie Creek near Exmouth in Western Australia.
A report was called in by a member of the public about 1pm.
