It’s 8pm at Nobu Madrid – virtually mid-afternoon by the standards of the Spanish capital – and there’s already a DJ behind the decks of the downstairs bar, every seat in the restaurant is taken, and the staff seems to be in a constant chorus of cheering “irasshaimase!” (meaning welcome in Japanese).
