Acting Sergeant Jupp was traveling home from work on her motorbike when a car pulled out in front of her on Bradman Avenue in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast.
She said the person didn’t look properly and the crash almost killed her.
She suffered two brain bleeds, nerve damage, collapsed lungs and five broken ribs and was transported first to Sunshine Coast University Hospital before being flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
She remained there in a coma for two days, in the ICU for eight days and then continued onto weeks, months and years of recovery.
Hear her story 5 years on as part of Queensland Road Safety Week.
