Nationals agreeing to net zero a ‘close run thing’

Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says the agreement to side with Scott Morrison on net zero passed with the support of around 12 MPs in the 21 member Nationals party room. This comes after the Nationals agreed to a net zero target by 2050 to COP 26 in Glasgow next week. “It was a close run thing,” Mr Clennell said. “To deliver, the PM must have in the submission to go to Cabinet tonight all the safeguards he promised in a letter to the Nationals.”
