The strappy sandal is no new feat when it comes to summer shoe staples. For as long as the sandal has existed, strappy styles have been the status quo.
In the ‘70s (and again in the noughties) it was the gladiator sandal that held our sartorial attention, before making way for fisherman and jelly styles in the ‘80s and then paring back completely in the ‘90s with delicate, barely-there straps reigning supreme.
