Essendon president Andrew Welsh explains decision to appoint Mark McVeigh as new coach

Mark McVeigh will be Essendon’s new AFL senior coach, with the stricken club confirming the appointment on Monday afternoon.

The confirmation came a day after a narrow loss to Port Adelaide meant the Bombers finished last and completed the worst season in their history.
